How do I get my ad published in the Brass Bell magazine?

If you want your ad included in the next issue of The Brass Bell, simply post your ad online, and upgrade your ad to a "Featured Ad."

"Featured Ads" are displayed in a separate table at the top of TradingDock.org search results pages. Your "Featured Ads" will continue to appear in The Brass Bell for as long as you keep it active online. Cancelling your ad online also cancels the ad in The Brass Bell.

Ads submitted by mail (on the Trading Dock form included with the Brass Bell) will be posted online by Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club staff. Remember, if you want your ad to appear online and in the next Brass Bell please include a check for $5.00 made out to the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club.

The ads appear to be listed out of order. What gives?

Listings are arranged according to a few simple rules that vary slightly depending on where you're browsing.

On the Trading Dock home page:

  • Featured Ads are listed at the top (in a yellow frame) above other listings.
  • To populate the Featured Ads frame, a fixed number of ads are selected randomly from the pool of all active Featured Ads from every category, and they are arranged by date with the newest at the top.
  • The Newest Ads section displays the 25 most recent additions to the Trading Dock. All ads (including Featured Ads) are included, arranged from the newest to oldest.

On all category subpages:

  • Featured Ads are listed at the top (in a yellow frame) above other listings.
  • To populate the Featured Ads frame, up to 25 Featured Ads are chosen randomly from the selected category, and they are arranged by date with the newest at the top.
  • If there are less than 25 Featured Ads in the category, all Featured Ads are displayed.
  • The Newest Ads section displays the 25 most recent additions to the category. All ads (including Featured Ads) are included, arranged from newest to oldest. Active ads upgraded with the "Better Placement" option will appear at the top of the list. This may cause the list to appear out of order, since older listings with "Better Placement" will be displayed above newer normal listings.
