Trading Dock History

The Trading Dock began in 1978 as a few pages of classifieds at the back of the Florida-based Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club's quarterly magazine, The Brass Bell. In 2005, Wilson Wright stepped down as the club president and handed off management responsibilities to a capable group of club leaders.

The team worked to improve the printed Brass Bell and decided to move the Trading Dock online to allow the scope and volume of ads to grow beyond the limits of printed pages. We intend to maintain our ties to the Brass Bell, but at the same time seek to grow our user base outside of the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club, in order to make it a valuable resource for all of the antique boating community.

Administration

Tradingdock.org is hosted at the new Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club home base in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The site is maintained by Matt Montag and Bill Basler, who draw on years of experience in fields of web development and design.
