Description
This is hull # FXA-27-2035-H. She is a 1966 Commander Express with Hard-top. Originally she had a single 327F for power. We replaced that with a 350 over a decade ago. This is raw water cooled and needs to be replaced again. A leak developed in the manifold and flooded a cylinder. The canvas needs to be replaced and the forward windows above the v-berth need attention. The boat has new exhaust manifolds, hoses and mufflers, a new Edlebrock Marine 4 bbl carburator, new glassed in shaft log and stuffing box. She has a teak swim platform and a new mahogany control panel with Teleflex gauges. We have a new 1100 GPH Rule bilge pump, never installed. The windshield wiper motor has also been replaced recently. The standard Horizon VHF is 5 yrs. old.
The remote oil filter was recently replaced, too.
She has the original 2 burner electric stove (still works :-) and the interior cushions have been redone. The hull is in excellent shape and the only rough spot is on the hard-top itself where the gel-coat is worn thin. We're the third owners and have pulled copies of her paperwork from the Chris Craft library in Newport News, VA. She's been great to fish from, hang out on, and cruise Long Island Sound. Unfortunately, our lives are changing and we can't enjoy her anymore but we want to find someone who will love her like we do.
